Our Story

Three years in, and just getting started

This Little Farm & Homestead sits on the red dirt of Minco, in west-central Oklahoma. We're Luke and Myriah Walker — a family that decided the best food is the kind you raise yourself, and the best life is one lived a little closer to the ground.

Myriah's Cherokee and Delaware Nations heritage runs through how we think about this land: take care of it, don't take more than you need, and treat the animals with respect from the day they're born to the day they leave the farm.

What started as a homestead experiment three years ago has grown into a small working farm — a registered Kunekune herd, true free-range laying hens, farm dogs on patrol, and one goose who believes she runs the place.

Why We Chose Kunekunes

A pig that fits the way we farm

We didn't want confinement barns or feed-lot shortcuts. We wanted an animal that could live outside, eat mostly grass, and be handled without stress. The Kunekune checked every box — and then won us over completely with its personality.

Today our herd is sixteen strong, built on AKKPS-registered bloodlines. Every pig sold for breeding comes with registration, and every pig on this farm — breeder, companion, or grow-out — is raised exactly the same way: outdoors, on pasture, known by name.

We're also running a carefully planned cross program with Fancy Feast, our Hereford sow, pairing her with our Kunekune genetics to explore the best of both worlds — more size, same remarkable pasture-raised quality.
